Diversity and Inclusion Policy
We recognize that diversity and inclusion are fundamental values that contribute to our success as an organization. Creating a diverse and inclusive workplace not only enriches our company culture but also enhances our business potential. We are committed to fostering an environment that respects and values the unique qualities of every individual, regardless of ethnicity, gender, ability, socioeconomic status, religion, or sexual orientation.
Respect for Diversity and Inclusion throughout our Operations
Carter Industrial Company is dedicated to upholding human rights and ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals. We adhere to a merit-based hiring process that emphasizes skills, qualifications, and the potential for growth without any form of discrimination. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion extends throughout our entire value chain, including our relationships with employees, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders worldwide. These principles are enshrined in our Code of Conduct, anti-Discrimination policy, Human Rights Policy, and Carter Industrial Company Corporate Governance Manual. We actively avoid engaging in business relationships with entities known for discrimination or human rights violations, and we ensure compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct. Additionally, we have established the Carter Industrial Company Whistleblowing Program to provide a platform for reporting any violations of our Code of Conduct, further enhancing transparency and accountability.
Training and Compliance
Carter Industrial Company places a high priority on diversity training to effectively manage our global workforce. We are dedicated to providing equal rights and opportunities for all employees in terms of work, employment, and conditions. To uphold our Diversity and Inclusion Policy, the following conditions must be fulfilled across our organization:
Recruitment notices and hiring processes explicitly state that no individual will be excluded based on ethnicity, nationality, gender, marital status, maternity or paternity status, religion, disability, or sexual orientation.
Hiring decisions are based on professional background, educational qualifications, and competence.
All employees are provided with equal opportunities for equal pay and pay raises in similar positions.
Reasonable adjustments or accommodations are provided to employees with disabilities, ensuring equal terms, opportunities, and conditions in the workplace.
Clear information is provided to all employees and stakeholders about the procedure for raising grievances and seeking remedies for cases of harassment or discrimination in the work environment.
All employees are required to undergo diversity training, which is initiated and updated by the HR departments.
All Carter Industrial Company sites foster an inclusive work environment that promotes mutual respect and acceptance of people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging employees to maintain a balanced and active life.
Recognizing that diversity challenges vary across locations, each site in every country where Carter Industrial Company operates is responsible for developing a Local Diversity Plan. These plans outline concrete action plans to actively incorporate diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
The Local Diversity Plan includes measurable goals for achieving a diverse workforce and management team, along with a timeframe for executing the actions and plans. Each year, the Local Diversity Plan is submitted to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Sustainability and included in the budget process. The plan should include:
An annual internal benchmark of salary levels, disaggregated by gender, for employees in the same grade and position.
Annual tracking of the number of individuals, including those from diverse or minority backgrounds, considered and interviewed for vacant positions. Additionally, the plan should document the number of individuals, including those from diverse and minority backgrounds, promoted to higher positions or managerial levels for internal and external management positions.
Annual documentation of the number of employees who participated in diversity training and the dates of their participation.
Annual documentation of hiring practices that comply with local laws, regulations, and collective agreements, ensuring the absence of discriminatory clauses.
By implementing this Diversity and Inclusion Policy, Carter Industrial Company strives to build a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace that celebrates the unique perspectives and contributions of every individual.
